What to Know about the Trustee Race

Cascade Township's Board of Trustees is comprised of seven elected officials. Board members serve four-year terms and face election at the same time. Following the August 2024 primary election, Cascade Township voters will now be choosing a mix of four Trustees from a candidate pool of six. The Supervisor, Clerk, and Treasurer positions are unopposed. The Board is currently and has always been 100% Republican, though I believe we should focus on priorities over politics

Please choose me and pick three more Trustees! It's important to finish your entire ballot if you are not voting straight party ticket. Whether you vote "straight party ticket" or opt for individual choices in each race, you CAN choose up to FOUR Trustee candidates in this election from a mix of both parties and your ballot will still follow the proper protocol to be counted.

  • 16% of Cascade Democrats dropped off the ballot and did not vote in the Trustee race after casting their choice for U.S. Senate during the August primary election
  • 34% of Cascade Republicans dropped off the ballot and did not vote in the Trustee race after casting their choice for U.S. Senate during the August primary election

Take the time to research your candidates and vote informed! Do not leave this important decision about your local representatives to others.

Why I'm Eager to Serve Cascade Township

I’ve come to know many of you through my efforts to delicately separate fact from fiction when it comes to where fingers are pointed in matters of our schools or local government. While I am an obvious voice for the success of our schools, where I live (Cascade) is the constant that I care just as deeply about, which will outlast the years my children have in school.

In the course of everyday life, we take for granted that what we see on the outside of our Townships, like Ada and Cascade…natural, God-created beauty, green spaces, flowing rivers, and people enjoying fresh air…matches the inner-workings of those Townships.

There are many exceptionally beautiful aspects of this Township that have helped protect these natural spaces. But beyond that, there are things that neighbors may trust are being addressed by their fellow neighbors in leadership.

There are several unseen areas that I’d like to raise a hand to lend my expertise to. One is pragmatism.
  • Whether it’s taking a quick action to make a hire to fill a seat (that quickly turns over again), or sacrificing revenue by claiming ownership of property that doesn’t yet have a game plan, or checking the box on green space that is left to stand under-utilized, these are the little details that left unattended do make a dent in the beauty we see outside.
  • I would like to help all business owners, whether they agree with my support for public education or not. I want to help make it easy for more people to frequent our businesses to help them thrive by creating fun events and recreation programs that inspire stops at stores and restaurants. I am willing to take the punches because I believe it’s more important to sacrifice my comfort to be a part of the solution than to risk any aspect of my community’s future.
  • Cascade Township is burdened by constant turnover. We are temporarily without a Parks and Recreation Director who just sent out the survey to ask for feedback, but a new hire is set to begin in late September. We are also now without a Zoning Administrator. These are two of handfuls of revolving door losses this Township experiences. We lost a communications person after also letting go of a PR agency, of which I am an expert. This past newsletter misspelled the Treasurer’s name twice.
  • We have spent tens of thousands auditing things like election results we don’t even trust our own staff to oversee. We asked for opioid program grant money - for what? No plans yet.
  • This turnover is partly why we have a set it and forget it concern. Folks disappear. Morale in the Township office could use a boost.
I do not expect everyone to attend or listen in to Township meetings. I watch them and take detailed notes. As you prepare to receive ballots by mail or visit the polls, I simply want you to make an informed vote based on what you will not see by looking out the window or at any yard sign or any candidate survey.

What I bring is attention to detail, collaboration, creativity, and a solutions mindset. I love Cascade and all of the wonderful work that has made this a place we chose to live in and raise our children. I hope you like what you hear from and about me. If you do, I welcome your support.
